Pioneer Memorial Park
This memorial park is the site of an old graveyard in memory of the early pioneers of Comox. The park is beautifully sited in a lovely setting with a view of the bay and a steep beach access to the ocean.

Kye Bay Park
This is a well-sheltered area highlighted by an expanse of sandy beach at low tides, punctuated by many tidal pools. There are picnic tables under the tree at Elks Park or one may take advantage of the new playground nearby. Restrooms are available.

Port Augusta Park
1.06-hectares of partially shaded grass-covered area, sloping down to the waterfront. A small bubbling brook flows south along the west side of the park into the ocean. There are park benches and an excellent view of the mountains and ocean.

Brooklyn Creek Park
3.77 hectares the park has easy walking footpaths through a wooded area with a wide variety of plants. There are many flowers during the spring and salmon can be observed in the creek during the fall months.

Mack Laing Park
This park was left to the Town of Comox by naturalist Hamilton Mack Laing on the condition that it be left in its natural state. The seven-acre park is full of small paths and bridges, stairways and trails leading past information kiosks which enable flora and fauna to be identified.

Walk the peaceful trails of this nature park.

Marina Park
A one-hectare park used for neighborhood and community events, with boat launch, picnic shelters, bandstand, playground, and washrooms. Two marinas and government wharf are nearby; salmon and other types of seafood can be purchased off the boats. A boardwalk with guardrail travels the south end of the park overlooking the harbor and mountains across the bay.

Salish Park
Neatly constructed footpaths and bridges which meander through a very serene setting. The grass-covered area with its gently rolling hills is landscaped with shrubs.

Filberg Park is a stately home located on beautifully landscaped grounds a mere two minutes from down town Comox. Wander through the magnificent gardens, enjoy some refreshments at the Filberg Tea house or take the children to enjoy the Hands on Farm.

Provincial Parks



Boyle Point Provincial Park

A forested trail leads through the park's second-growth forest to the viewpoints, where visitors will be rewarded with a spectacular view of Baynes Sound and the Chrome Island Lighthouse. Seals and sea lions can be spotted off the point, as well as Bald eagles, osprey and a variety of seabirds.

On Denman Island, follow Denman Road to the Hornby Island Ferry terminal; turn right and follow East Road to the park.



Kitty Coleman Provincial Park & Kitty Coleman Woodland Gardens
A very popular area for swimming, kayaking, boating and hiking. The park is a mixture of Western Hemlocks, Red Cedars and Douglas Fir trees. Kitty Coleman Park has lots of beach areas and great ocean views with picnic areas and a boat launch.

Access is north of the area in Merville off the Hwy on Coleman Rd.


Strathcona Provincial Park

Guided & Self-guided Walks in Paradise Meadows, extensive & beautiful hiking trails. One of the premium parks in BC for backpacking, hiking and mountain biking.

Fillongley Provincial Park

A large day-use area with picnic facilities and a playground, as well as a campground. This small park overlooks the Strait of Georgia and offers scenic views of the mainland. Visitors and local residents head to Kin Beach to explore the rocky beach or enjoy a picnic under the shade of mature Douglas fir trees.

On Denman Island, follow Denman Road to Swan Road. Turn left on Swan Road, then right on Beadnell Road.


Miracle Beach Provincial Park

2 picnic areas, viewing platform and fish weir (spring/fall watch the Salmon spawning), over 2km of trails, & a popular beach area for families for beach activities.
NOTE: The majority of the well maintained trails are wheelchair accessible.



Tribune Bay Provincial Park

A long stretch of smooth, white sand leading gently down to the water.  Above the beach is a wide grassy area with a cook house/picnic area and washrooms near the path to the parking lot.
On Hornby Island, follow Denman Road to the Hornby Island Ferry terminal. Another 10 minute ferry ride will put you on Hornby Island; from there follow the main road to the Hornby Island CO-OP then turn left following Central Road to the entrance to the park.


Helliwell Provincial Park

A beautiful hike along majestic bluffs above the water.  A 5km walk starting and ending in a beautiful forst.
On Hornby Island, follow Denman Road to the Hornby Island Ferry terminal. Another 10 minute ferry ride will put you on Hornby Island; from there follow the main road to the Hornby Island CO-OP then turn left following Central Road to St. John's Point Road to the park.


Rosewall Creek Park
A forested 63 hectre nature wilderness park with a waterfall viewing area. Some trails are wheel chair accessible.

Access is 30 km south of Courtenay off the Oceanside Route Hwy.


Tree Island (Sandy Island Marine Provincial Park)

Sandy Island offers good opportunities for bird watching and nature appreciation, as well as sandy beaches perfect for sunbathing and swimming.

Off the northern tip of Denman Island & is accessible by boat from Union Bay or by foot from Denman Island at low tide.


Kin Beach Provincial Park
Great for swimming and picnics. Play areas and cooking shelters available. Pebbles and sandy beaches with available camping and day use facilities. Kin Beach Park is a popular viewpoint to observe Californian and Stellar Sea Lions.
