Sunnydale Golf Club In 1979, 45 acres was cleared, graded and excavation of the large water reservoir was finished. Additional money was raised and some money was borrowed to provide irrigation to all 18 holes and to drill a new deep well. Hundreds of volunteer hours, labour, goodwill and discounts from suppliers and local businesses helped this endeavour come true. In 1981 hundreds of trees were planted, the greens were seeded and the course was officially opened on June 4, 1983; and at the time it was known as the only 18 hole golf course north of Nanaimo.

It offers burly wooden stunts and perfectly sculpted dirt hits on the western flank of the mountain. Radomi’s past trail accomplishments include Scratch and Sniff, one of the mountain’s favourites. Kickball
Comox Valley Kickball Kickball is the latest sport from your youth that's tearing back into popularity throughout North America. It's a sweet sport resembling slo-pitch, but with some key differences that make it even more social: Bouncy Red Ball, You kick the ball, not hit it with a bat, and Bouncing the big rubber ball off a running player (hitting below the shoulders) gets them out.

Rugby
Comox Valley Kickers RFC On March 29, 1889, in front of 400 spectators, the Kickers played the Nanaimo Rovers in their first game in the “Hub City”. The Rovers – as the Nanaimo team was then named -- unfortunately ran out winner by “… three goals and a try to nil” the Comox lads. That October John Bair attended the founding meeting of the British Columbia Rugby Union in New Westminster making the Comox Valley Kickers Club a founding member of that provincial body. The modern Kickers club is currently enjoying one of the club’s resurrections. It features a vibrant Mens team, an U-16 team that went to the Island Finals in its first year, and will start a Women’s program this fall. It plays its games at Lower Lake Trail field and hosts post-match functions at its clubrooms in the Avalanche Hostel.
